Shapes and applications

Ring / Ring with Knob / Oval

Ring supports grade 1–2 prolapse. Ring with Knob has model-specific applications for cystocele and stress incontinence. Oval helps reduce rotation. Supporting-membrane options are listed by code.

Cube / Cup / Dish

Cube is removable silicone with a removal loop and drainage options for grade 2–3 prolapse, cystocele and rectocele. Cup and Dish have membrane options; the manufacturer also lists rectocele and stress-incontinence applications for Dish.

Donut / Inflatable Donut / Flexi-Shelf

Donut uses a thick compressible ring. Inflatable Donut has four sizes and is intended for a single patient. Flexi-Shelf has a thin curved base and cone-shaped removal handle for grade 2–3 uterine prolapse.

Gellhorn / Short-Stem / Shaatz

Gellhorn includes short-stem and drainage configurations. Short-Stem uses a disc base and folding knobbed stem for cystocele and grade 2–3 uterine prolapse. Shaatz has a rigid convex disc and drainage holes; the current product page lists grade 1–2 prolapse.

Gehrung / Hodge / Incontinence Ring

Gehrung is shapeable with a support membrane for cystocele/rectocele and grade 2–3 uterine prolapse. Hodge is shapeable, with membrane options, for grade 1–2 prolapse, stress incontinence or retrodisplacement. Incontinence Ring targets stress incontinence. The manufacturer instructs removal of these metal-containing devices before X-ray, ultrasound or MRI; coordinate with the treating clinician.

Marland

Marland provides mechanical support for grade 1–3 prolapse, cystocele and stress incontinence, with membrane variants listed by code.

Fitting sets help professionals select the type and size before prescription: Ring, Ring with Support, Ring with Knob, Cube, Dish, Oval, Gellhorn, Marland, Cup and Flexi-Shelf. PRM2 assists removal and requires lubricant according to the manufacturer. BA222-222 is the disposable P.O.P.s ruler. Accessories are separate choices, not included with every pessary.
