Care of the uterine cavity is an important part of care after intrauterine procedures. MateRegen® Gel is a crosslinked hyaluronic acid gel that forms a temporary physical barrier between injured tissue surfaces during healing and is gradually absorbed. [1,2]
Support care of the uterine cavity
Injured endometrial surfaces may adhere after an intrauterine procedure. MateRegen is an intrauterine adhesion barrier designed to separate treated surfaces during healing, complementing appropriate surgical technique and clinical follow-up. [1]
Designed for intrauterine workflow
- Self-crosslinked hyaluronan: A gel network based on non-animal-sourced HA.
- Viscous consistency: Designed to remain at the target site and separate injured tissue surfaces.
- Temporary barrier: Product information describes degradation over approximately 7–14 days.
- 3 mL and 5 mL presentations: Confirm product codes and delivery accessories for the supplied configuration. [1]
Role after hysteroscopic surgery
MateRegen is intended as a barrier to prevent or reduce postoperative intrauterine adhesions following hysteroscopic surgery. Preparation, aseptic delivery, volume and accessories must follow the product-specific instructions and the clinician's treatment plan. [1]
Clinical evidence in context
Li and colleagues' multicenter randomized trial, published in 2019, enrolled 300 patients undergoing D&C for delayed miscarriage without previous D&C. Three-month data were available for 274 women. Intrauterine adhesions occurred in 9.5% of the gel group versus 24.1% of controls (p = 0.0012). [3]
This supports the role of crosslinked hyaluronan gel in the studied setting. It does not establish the same outcome for every procedure or guarantee complete adhesion prevention. Adhesion outcomes, clinical pregnancy and live birth are distinct endpoints; reduced adhesions do not guarantee a pregnancy or live birth.
MateRegen and HyaRegen: match the application
MateRegen focuses on the uterine cavity in 3 mL and 5 mL presentations. HyaRegen addresses adhesion barriers in gynecological surgery, particularly the abdominopelvic area, in a 10 mL presentation. Follow the indications and instructions for the actual product. [1]
